Be Very Afraid 4th Graders…..

Joe Saluzzi, my partner, is speaking to the Lafayette School 4th Grade about the stock market next Friday.  They are all involved in a stock market game, and Joe is going to rain on their parade. His son and my daughter will be subjected to his angry, turtle-trader viewpoint.

They will learn about 0% interest rates.

They will learn about high frequency trading.

They will go home knowing who Getco is.

They will ask their parents why the neighbor down the street,  who works at Ameritrade,  flashes them.

They will start sub-pennying each other when they trade baseball cards.

They will learn about bailouts.

But most terribly, they will cry and ask who that scary man is.

Hug your kids tonight. All of you.
